On 09 December 2017, REMAR, Dom Bosco, ExxonMobil, and FOLSCO combined forces to throw a holiday party for 170 homeless children living in shelters in Luanda, Angola. Thank you, donors and volunteers!
Please read about our successes in the October 2017 Newsletter.
Please Save the Date…Friday, November 17, 2017 from 4-6 pm for the Monte Belo Charity Bake Sale to benefit Folsco.
Please think about what you may like to contribute…savory food (very well received last time), baked goods, and drinks (summer is almost upon us!). We are also collecting childrens and adult books for the book sale with all proceeds to Folsco. It’s a fun afternoon and your kids can partake in the baking and/or selling of the treats!
FOLSCO provides 35-50 homeless children with breakfast every Tuesday at Parque da Independência. This is done in partnership with the Fundacao Arte & Cultura.
We would like to thank Alliance Française de Luanda and Fábrica De Sabão for partnering with FOLSCO to provide an evening of dance to children from Dom Bosco.
Dear FOLSCO friends
We hope you had good holidays and arrived safely in Angola or are about to arrive safely! During the holiday we received donations of clothes and toys, which were delivered to Dom Bosco. The kids were so happy with the toys. We have also continued our support of REMAR by providing plastic mattress covers for the mattresses donated before the holidays. We have also donated clothes to Pequena Semente.
After completing a comprehensive needs assessment in various centers and orphanages, FOLSCO decided to support Dom Bosco on a monthly basis.
On Saturday, May 13, FOLSCO delivered the first distribution to Dom Bosco: 150 kg of rice, 280 eggs, sugar, flour, and clothes. FOLSCO will also pay the salaries of four educators, who will help rehabilitate the children living in this shelter.
Today, FOLSCO traveled to the Pediatric Hospital to deliver donations to MUSA Angola Rescue Project. Many thanks to Angoalissar for 17 huge boxes of baby formula! FOLSCO also donated baby clothes and baby bottles.
Imextrade delivered 20 mattresses to REMAR today. Many thanks to Imextrade, FOLSCO volunteers, and Soha for organizing the donation.
On Sunday April 23rd, FOLSCO members visited Angola Rescue at their MUSA project. The project involves providing soup to 300-400 infants and children twice a day at the pediatric hospital in Luanda.
